Dermal Fillers

Follow these clinical protocols to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic longevity of your treatment.

01. Clinical Expectations

  1. Timing: It takes approximately 4 weeks for the full clinical results of dermal fillers to become apparent. Initial swelling and bruising are common following the procedure; specific timing is dependent on individual metabolic rates.
  2. Duration: Standard fillers typically last between 6 months and 2 years, while Bio-Fillers last 3–6 months. Longevity is influenced by the filler type, injection site, facial expressiveness, and genetics. Repeated treatments often result in longer-lasting outcomes due to cumulative collagen stimulation.
  3. Follow-Up: Schedule your assessment for 6–12 months post-treatment. Consistent maintenance allows practitioners to evaluate how your facial features react before the filler fully metabolizes.

02. Immediate Aftercare Protocol

  1. Positioning: For the first night, sleep with your head elevated on two pillows. Continue sleeping on your back for the following two weeks. Do not rub or massage the treated area unless explicitly instructed by your injector.
  2. Activity & Avoidance: Avoid makeup for 45 minutes post-procedure. Refrain from strenuous exercise for 24 hours; normal activities may resume the following day. Avoid facials or saunas for a period of 6 weeks.
  3. Substance Restrictions: Avoid excessive alcohol and blood thinners (such as Advil or Aspirin) for 2 days to minimize bruising risk. For pain management, Tylenol is the recommended choice.
  4. Cold Sores: Facial treatments can trigger herpetic reactivation. If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend taking an antiviral medication like Acyclovir in advance of your session.

03. Area-Specific Guidelines

  1. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty: Avoid wearing glasses or placing weight on the bridge of the nose for 10 weeks. Avoid dental work for 2 weeks. Limit excessive smiling or laughing for 14 days and use extreme caution when washing your face.
  2. Lip Refinement: Refrain from using straws, smoking, undergoing dental work, or harsh kissing for at least 2 weeks.
Safety & Emergency Protocols

If you witness blanching of the skin (whitening), a bluish-grayish hue, or redness accompanied by pain/numbness after 2 hours, contact us immediately at (786) 644-7036. Seek immediate medical attention for any visual disturbances.
